Case Study - MSP Program

Case Study – MSP Program
North American Media Company

The Challenge

Our client, a medium sized media organization with extremely fast pace of growth in both Canada and the USA were looking for ways to improve the vendor engagement process, reduce the number of vendors, measure the vendor performance and implement a national rate card.

The Contrax Approach

After the initial assessment, there were significant ways to partner with HR in order to help the engagement of vendors, streamlining the requisition issue process, how they were receiving resumes and contract finalizing. Implementing a standard rate card for all positions was a key, early recommendation. Opportunity for risk reduction for independent contactors was also identified.

Some highlights of our delivery include:

1 - On-Boarding every vendor to a standard contract agreement
2 - Implemented a VMS technology
3 - Provided our client with a competitive rate sheet to integrate into their VMS
4 - Began to measure performance to give visibility to top performing vendors
5 - Selected and implemented 3 rd party payroll provider for Independent contractors
6 - Assumed the day to day management & resolution of vendor issues/inquiries
7 - Designed and implemented the vendor scorecard

The Result

Contrax was able to design and implement a brand new MSP program that resulted in hundreds of thousand of dollars savings in the first year, has improved the way they engage with vendors, measure and manage performance and make payment.

Our program has resulted in a wide range of benefits some of which are highlighted below:

    • Improved to time to fill
    • Significant cost savings
    • 100% statutory and policy Compliance

We were experiencing awful no-shows and turnover in our warehouses and our agencies were underperforming. Contrax implemented their MSP program including a VMS system and brought in new agencies as well as getting more from our existing ones. Almost immediately our no shows went down and the new agencies ensured we had a more reliable temp workforce

"A VMS has helped put our contractors in one consolidated place - giving us visibility and control over our temporary workers from agencies, and enabling us to have more predictability and oversight of our costs."

"Managing your staffing agencies comes with hundreds of data points, and manually entering this data into spreadsheets is simply both ineffective and inefficient. Using spreadsheets to manage your staffing vendors leads to fragmented processes and divided data across your organization."
